About Us

Culture centered, innovative, positive change.

Often, we (especially Black, Indigenous and People Of Color (BIPOC) populations),  are asked to fit into boxes and ways of being that don't quite fit who we are or were created to be.  Music therapy is a unique bridge that allows all people to simultaneously experience culture, healing and expression in a way that is crafted to fit each individual person.

With this in mind, in 2022, Music Therapy in Color (MTiC) was created to be a place where clinicians and community members alike can explore culture-centered music therapy tools/techniques to meet our professional, personal, and health & wellness goals.

Curated with intention.

Anysia Palmer is the curator of Music Therapy in Color.  She is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) who is passionate about music, cultural diversity, and mental health.  Anysia holds a Master's degree in Music Therapy (MMT), a designation as a Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), and is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP).

Anysia brings over 28 years of musicianship, 21 years of professional vocal expertise, and 13 years in education to her position as the curator of Music Therapy in Color.  It is her goal to create a space that amplifies the work, ideas, and creative expressions of BIPOC communities to work toward holistic healing.  Using culture-centered and innovative techniques, she is committed to positive change that will help each of us bring music therapy into our daily lives.

For the last 4 years, Anysia has focused on providing womb-to-tomb care for clients of all ages seeking support in unconventional ways for the various issues that life brings our way.  She has provided care in hospitals, homes, schools, and clinical settings for individuals, groups, couples, and organizations.  Anysia is excited for you to join her on this journey of lifelong learning as we discover new and innovative ways to bring diversity and inclusivity into the care we take for our bodies, minds, and spirits through music therapy.
